Sofia Ribeiro in the artistic world as System Sophie. Her project grew out of a curiosity for exploring the sounds and possibilities of electronic instruments, especially synthesizers. Her artistic practice is rooted in experimentation, using synthesizers, virtual instruments, recordings, and generative tools to craft sonic atmospheres that blend styles like ambient, experimental, drone, IDM, and generative music. The goal is to create a truly unique listening experience, one that reflects states of mind and personal experiences. Throughout her journey, she's taken part in several collaborative projects, including Durum X9, Sniel System, and A.P.S.A & filhos, and she's also co-founder of the UMER collective and the Hardware Live project, centered on live improvisation. Her music is a constant search for new forms of expression — every project is a chance to explore and push the boundaries of electronic music, building a raw, visceral connection with the audience.
